It was a cold ride

It was a cold ride this day. Christmas is now over and here we march on to welcome the New Year. The last post held, maybe it was adding a pic that caused the problem. Let's try that out and see.

Snowed in Neah Bay

This may not seem like big news, But if you knew Neah Bay, you'd know that snow is very very very rare there. I remember years ago when it snowed like this we used to tie a hood of an old car to the bumper and tow kids around. In this day and age, that's frowned upon, but by the looks of the snow, this would have been a good day for it.

Vaughn isn't sure

Now here's a heck of a dilema for such a little guy. It's the holiday season, should I dress up as Frosty the Snowman Or perhaps I should go all out and dress up as Santa Claus. You all be the judge, let me know!!!

Ride Sequoia National Park

Just a Sunday ride.
We rode the motorcycles through the Sequoia and Kings Canyon National Parks. It was cold enough these guys seemed to have lost their senses and decided to try to make it look like they were holding up a Giant Sequoia tree. Here's the tree, without the clowns. It's the General Sherman tree, said to be the largest there. If put in the LA highway system the trunk would block 3 lanes of traffic. Here's a sign, bet you can't read it. I think it said something about the tree being 274 meters tall, or was that feet? For a sixty year old, Cuzn Frank is one tough dude. Not only did he do the ride with us, but to get here and home he tacked on 3 hours of riding on each end. Made about a 600 mile day for him and a lot of that was while riding in 30 degree weather. Got to my You Tube and see the film I took of us riding the twisties.

Weird Repair

The engine in the motorhome died about 10 days ago. Yesterday, after Paul Evert's mechanic where unable to find the problem, they finally towed our motorhome to Quinn Catepillar. Their mechanics worked on the coach for about 4 hours and finally discovered that the fuel tank pick-up is probably hooked up backwards. Seems the engine draws fuel down to a level that the genereator normally would and the generator can draw down to the actual bottom of the tank. What that all means is that the motorhome runs out of fuel even though there is still at least 30 gallons left in the tank. The had to reprime the system and now until we can get to the Monaco repair facility in Oregon we have to keep the tank at least 1/4 to a 1/2 full. Anyway, it's good to have the coach working again and now the Paul Evert's people can get back to the last few warranty items.

It's Over

NASCAR race season has ended as has Holloween, so it's time to put away the costumes.
Thanksgiving is also past so let's all get back on our diets.
A good form of excersize is to get on your Honda and ride. After all, "You meet the nicest people on a Honda"

Two stories

Here are pics that tell two different stories. Here is probably and explaination of why Harley riders dislike Honda riders.

Now here's a pic that shows, the Goldwing makes a lousy fishing boat. I'll bet this riders wished he had slowed down and thought twice about crossing that water.

La Carrera Panamericana

An update on Gary and Jon and the race in Mexico. Gary and Jon finished 9th overall and 3rd in their class, a hell of a job for the whole Team California's Best Racing their rookie year. Not everyone was so lucky as evidenced by this before and after pic of car #366 corvette. This is before This is after Only good thing about it, both the driver and navigator got out relatively unhurt.

Baby Vaughn has arrived

We got the car loaded. Now get Jennifer. Now at hospital. After about 19 hours, Vaughn Patrick has made his entrance. 3:07am November 2, 2007 at 21 1/4 inches long and 8lbs 3 ounces. Notice the black feet, proof that his title has been made from MCO (Manufacturers Certificate of Origin). A little clean up and he's ready to look around. Fine looking gentleman, for sure.
And look, Mama Jennifer is all smiles again.
Here's new Grandma and new Mama together.
And here's the new little family, Erica, Jennifer, and Vaughn.

Baby Watch Update

Got the call at 7am this morning, "Come get us, it's time for the hospital." Loaded up, got to Jennifer and Erica's, got them loaded up and made it to the hospital about 8:30am. Now it's 7:30pm and the waiting game is on. At last report from the doctor, Vaughn could be making his entrance within the next few hours. Jennifer is holding up fine, not too sure about the rest of the family.

The Pashnit BBQ

Saturday I got up early to ride with Cuzn Frank, his daughter Kim and her husband, Jerry. Met them in Angels Camp for breakfast. This is what I happened to see along the way, water buffalo, camels, old trucks and tractors. Cuzn Frank bought breakfast for all, he worked extra hard last weekend and made lots and lots and lots of extra money, yea Frank!!! On the way up Cuzn Frank asked me to check his rear tire, I forgot until we got up there, I checked, looks okay to me. Met a bunch of nice folks at the BBQ Pashnit put on, we left around 3:30pm and all went our seperate ways. I ended up riding for the last 20 miles or so in the rain just as darkness prevailed. Damned it sure makes you appreciate the dry weather.
