Another Sunday Ride

This Sunday we just goofed around on the bikes and found a neat road around the Altamont Pass and another one from 84 to 580 call Palomares. Great riding but afternoon got a little warm.

Sunday's Ride

Frank and I decided to ride to St Helena to try Taylor's Automatic Refresher. We were supposed to meet in Fairfield at 9am but due to fires in the Napa area Frank got rerouted and it took him until 10am to get to Fairfield. We headed off and checked out the Taylor's in Napa, then rode on up to St. Helena and sampled the food their. It was good, not great, and it was expensive, don't think I'll put that on my list to return to. 100_1662.jpg 100_1663.jpg

We had a great ride and are on the lookout for another eatery ride soon.

Fire

Saturday we had a lot of excitement at the campground. There was and afternoon thunder and lightning event and lightning started a fire less than a quarter of a mile from our campsite. 100_1659.jpg 100_1660.jpg 100_1661.jpg

The CDF had 6 units on site within a very short time and this fire was put out in a couple of hours. Across the road behind us was a little more dramatic, that fire took a couple of days to get put out and a third just over the mountain is still burning.

Tire Day

Tire day
Spent yesterday taking tires from Gary to Frank. Took me about three stops to get the tires tied down on my bike right. Got to Frank's and took the front tire of his bike and then we he got home we took the rear tire off, had to lift the bike a bit so it took two, one to lift bike on jack and one to steady bike. Honda shop mounted the tires for us in about an hour and then we put the tires back on the bike. KT seemed to be all happy about it and Frank rode with me for about an hour on my ride back to Morgan Hill. We took 160 down the river and the bugs were out, Frank owes me a bike wash for sure now, LOL. All in all a very successful day.

More fun and adventure

3ba8340b.jpg 773300ba.jpg

Frank and I rode to Lake Hogan to visit Tony last Sunday, had a good ride and a good visit. Yesterday I went to Gary's and picked up a couple of tires that have half the tread left on em. Gary and Claudia are going on a long trip and wanted to start out with new tires. Frank will get good use out of the tread left on em. I plan to take the tires to Frank either on thursday or friday and stay to help him get them put on. Time to figure a ride for Saturday or Sunday too. Any ideas??? Just post in the comment section.

Now in Morgan Hill

Now in Morgan Hill
We've moved and are in Morgan Hill now. We are looking forward to Emily's upcoming visit next week. Sunday was ride day for the 3 Musketeers and a new rider and passengers. Gary and Claudia, Frank and Chelly, Dusty, and finally myself met at Just Breakfast. Food was good and I'd recommend the place to anyone. 100_1653.jpg

After breakfast Gary led us over Hiway 9 to the coast, Gary is very good at leading, he doesn't push the pace and it winds up always being an enjoyable ride. We dropped Dusty off in Pacifica and headed for "The City" to check out Joe's Cable Car. Gary is our burger conissoier and the first words out of his mouth there were, "This is a good burger"

So that's it, Joe's rates a revisit. We had to coax Frank into parking with us, he was shaky about the tow away signs, but then we told him we were in fact Cable Car customers so it would be okay.

After lunch we rode through the city and Frank and Chelly peeled off to cross the Golden Gate bridge as Gary, Claudia and I headed under the bridge and south for home.

Next time I think we are headed for Helena to Taylor's Refresher, stay tuned.
