Christmas

Christmas has come and gone, now a week of looking forward to the new year starting or the old year ending, which will it be?

As we update the House

Now the house looks a little better with the driveway in.

New direction

Now that we have a house I'm probably going to have to redo this site. I'll think on it a bit before I decide how to proceed. But, we are in our new house, everything is just about changed to our liking and the motorhome is at the local dealership trying to figure out the next step for it. The big stacker trailer is gone, has a new home in California.

Update

Haven't posted in awhile, between the disappointment of the awning fiasco and movin on down the road, I just haven't felt up to it. A lot has happened this month, sold the trailer, bought a house, relocated. Maybe after we get in the new house we'll get back up to speed on the blog posting.

I know why the MH industry went belly-up

What do you expect when a simple awning repair takes a month. Yup, we are still in Oregon, waiting for a part for the awning from that far away distant land, called California. Girard awnings, wow, what a way to go.

Back in Coos Bay

Okay, we've had the family reunion, everything went well. We stopped at the new Monaco RV LLC by Navistar facility which is the same facility that Monaco used to have, with the same people, all the same except now they have no liability for any of the old Monaco product or people. Neat trick that bankruptcy gives them. Our first experience with the new company did not go well. On a bill of only $21.80 for a minor adjustment of the awning they tried to tack on $10.00 (almost 50%) to the bill for "hazardous material disposal". After arguing like crazy we finally convinced them to take it off the bill. Man it's tough dealing with pompous asses afflicted with a bad case of idiocy!!!

Now we are back in Coos Bay waiting for parts to fix the slide out awning. They were supposed to be here yesterday but did not show and are still not here on Friday, oh well, maybe Monday. LOL.

Off we go

After ruining a day and a half, and pissing away over $1300.00, we are off again. Only temporarily though as the repair facility has had to order some parts and we will have to return next week to get the motorhome fixed. We are at the family reunion site and await the arrival of the rest of the family. This park seems to be really nice and should make for a great reunion location.

Another Monaco Day

Yup, this Monaco product broke again. This time the awning over the slide out has broken and is jamming up the slide out. It's taking us a day and half to find out the problem, now we'll order parts and come back later to get it fixed. Monaco makes junk!!!

Day Two

Traveled to Gold Beach, Oregon. Found a campground just a little north, kinda rustic. Went to the county fair, a really small one, walked around then headed for dinner at the Port Hole. We've eaten there in the past and as usual, excellent food. They had fresh Ling Cod, it was great. We'll spend an extra day here and head out tomorrow.

Day One

Today is day one of our trip to the family reunion. Met up with Cuzn Helen and Bob on US101 and traveled to Eureka. Evening meal we all headed over to the Samoa Cookhouse. Later while sitting around visiting we got a call from Cindy and Ron, they live just a short distance away and drove over with her son Curtis for a nice visit.

Odds and Ends Day

Today is the tie up the odds and ends day. Gettin ready for the trek north. Gonna travel the coastal route so it should be a lot of interesting stuff to see. First time traveling with Cuzn Helen too.

A new adventure

Okay, here we go, kinda back to normal. Can you guess where we are. Hints are, on the left coast, near a man-made lake, and it's been hot while here and now just warm. This is the spot where a couple of years ago we had two blow-outs at once, do you remember that?

Nice thing about traveling in stealth mode, nobody know where your at.

To the Jackass that's been following my blog attempting to gather info to create problems, "Are you sure you know where I am?" maybe you best look to your back, I could already be there.

Visit with friends

Monday I decided to ride to Mecca and visit Sean and Louise who are camping not far away. We had a nice visit and it just confirms what a nice lifestyle fulltiming is and what great people you meet on the road.

Ridin the southland

This place was packed when I got there, food was excellent. Advantage to ridin alone, I got a parking place right up front and walked right in, counter service, I forgot how good it can be.

No more travel companion

It's official, I travel alone now, no more companion, has been this way for about a month or so.

Great Ride

Had a great ride yesterday with Cuzn Frank and our faithful sidekick Chelly. Made it up through the clouds to Mt Diablo but I don't think we got Chelly home in time for work, sorry little one, we'll do better in the future. I figure it was all my fault cause I made a wrong turn to Bethel Island. But guess what, those Harley riders found out that Goldwings can fly!!!

Weird Issue

We've been having a weird issue going on recently. The motorhome overheats sometimes, and then you let it cool and then it doesn't overheat. Spent the day in a repair facility, Delta Truck, they said it's fixed, but it wasn't, then they brought it in again, now the answer is, we'll we hope we fixed it. Good thing the place was a 24 hour shop as we were there from 6:30am to 10:00 pm. I guess we'll know when we next hit the road.

Al the Wop's

We ate lunch today at Al the Wops and the food was excellent as usual. This are pics we took last time we were there.

Guisti's

Decide to have lunch at another old haunt, Guisti's, also in the Delta. Simple menu but excellent food. Years ago I spent a whole lot more time at the bar than I did at the restaurant.

Wimpy's

We decided to do lunch on the Delta, back in the late 80's and early 90's I used to boat to this place for lunch. The Wimpy burger is still pretty good, but I couldn't talk em into giving me the burger today and I'd pay for it on tuesday. They said only Wimpy can get that deal and looking at his driver's license I didn't look like him.

Rain

It's been pretty much raining on and off for the last week. Managed to visit Frank and Marti twice, had some fun at their local casino and did not leave money there. Getting ready to pack up as tomorrow will be moving day, think we'll park at a resort we know in Lodi, not firm yet but we'll see. Weather is supposed to improve starting tomorrow.

Kinda good news

The one tow company has agreed to pay for repair costs, it's the one that did the major damage, so most everything will be fixed soon. We have made arrangements to get the work done and if all goes well we should be done by the end of the month. This lousy cold is still hanging on, not much left but some coughing and hacking, hopefully we are seeing the end of this too.

Relocated

We finished for now at RMechanic and have relocated to Turtle Beach Resort. Seems like now the fight with everyone starts. Monaco decided that just because their warranty problem caused storage costs and milage costs, they don't cover that, time to get others involved I think, I'm going to try to contact higher up at Monaco before I go to Action Line and stuff like that. I'm waiting to hear from both of the tow companies that did damage to see if they are going to pay the repair facility direct. Both said they would get back to me yesterday, neither did. And that damned cold is still hangin on!!!

Parts are in

As we sit vegetating and nursing really bad colds the last part we were waiting for showed up. UPS was kinda surprise because they didn't expect anybody to be here on a saturday to get the package. Now we wait until Monday and hopefully we will be mostly repaired but ready to pull out. We still have some damage done by the tow company that needs to be resolved but I think we can get that done at a later date. We shall see how negotiations go on Monday.

Repairs almost done

Still sitting in Livermore, warranty repairs are almost done, only waiting for one more part, then we'll be on the move again.

Mom's 80th Birthday

We had Mom's 80th birthday dinner celebration, a good time was had by all.

Sometimes there's a bump in the road

Seems like when they built our coach someone forgot to torque down the PTO pump that's attached to the Allison tranny, it backed out, broke, and shot fluid everywhere and caused the tranny to say "Hey, no pressure, I quit!" Being fixed under warranty but we are not moving for a week.
