- Sunday in New Orleans
-
First thing we had to do was go to Cafe DuMonde for cafe aulait and begneis, we got lucky too on parking, there's the car just across the street.
Next door is a praline making factory/store. While we were there a woman walked in and asked if they have any sugar free pralines. The clerk looked at her with a blank look and said "Pralines are sugar based, without sugar you wouldn't have a praline."
A statue by the outdoor market across from City Market and Frank's.
We drove around the section of town just down river from the French Quarter. Some of the houses are repaired with people living there, but most are abandoned and still have writing on them from the searches done. This one tells that a cat was found there and taken to the Winn-Dixie.
Later we drove through Algiers, across the river. The area where they build floats. We didn't go on the tour, $17.50 per person said the sign. We did find a Navy base just a few blocks away with a full hook-up fam camp. We are going to start staying there when we come to New Orleans instead of the state park at Segnette as at the state park there is really no parking for the trailer and they only have water and elec hookups.
