Turtle Beach

Been at Turtle Beach for a couple of weeks, much nicer campground than we've been in since arriving in California. New elec, good sewer, good water, great staff. It's been kinda cold the last week but we are hoping to head south soon.

Just Hangin out at Lake Minden, gonna put a new chain and sprocket on Cuz'n Frank's bike today, sure am glad the sun is shining.

Have you ever heard of these eateries and watering holes? "Al the Wops", Wimpy's, Giusti's, Isleton Joe's, Lost Isle.

Well, here we are, all set up in the Sacramento Delta. Cuzn Frank, Jim and I mount our bikes and head for a ride to Mt. Diablo. You can see San Francisco Bay and the Sacramento Valley from there. If the smog were to clear from the valley you could see the Sierra Nevada's also.

About time

Guess it's about time I update this blog. Since July we have traveled across the country to the west coast. Spent some time in Oregon, fishing and crabbing and attended the family reunion. We have been hanging out in the Sierra Nevada's for the last few weeks and are now headed for the Sacramento Delta for 10 days then to Palm Springs.

Got Trailer? You bet! Finally picked up our trailer and are headed west now. Have stopped in Elgin, Ok to pick up stuff for Jennifer and to load our stuff in trailer from storage.

Yes, finally we have our trailer. We left Georgia with the new trailer, headed for Elgin, Ok to pick up stuff for delivery to Jennifer. Today we will load trailer and maybe head west.

We stay here just about everytime we cross Florida on Hiway 41, Tonight our little camp area was featured on The Learning Channel. It was a story about skunk apes. Pete and Linda headed home to Titusville so now our little group consists of just Roger and Rebecca and Karan and I.  

We have left Key West and are heading north, a lunch stop was in order and we all gathered at Wahoo's. 

Here we are, the Key West Krew, waiting for our food order at B.O.'s Fish Wagon. This is a really unique and yet very good place to eat. 

Charles, son of Robert and Beth caught this barracuda right in front of our campsite at Sigsbee. After the pic he set the fish free. 

Here comes the Dateline crew back aboard after taking a cooling off swim while the divers are on the bottom.  

Here's a diver getting ready to enter water. As you can see, the jump off the ship is about 6 feet and he needs to jump out about 4 feet to clear the ladder. This entry is not for the faint of heart, hang on to your gear guy!  

Cameraman and soundman as investor divers come back aboard after searching for treasure in the hole that Magruder has dug with her redirected prop wash. Today we found a pottery handle and a large piece of pottery. 

Here's a piece of pottery we picked up on the first dive of the morning. 400 years since it's seen the light of day.  

Went diving on the Magruder for treasure from the Atocha which sank in 1622. It was a great day for diving, sunshine, warm, gentle ocean breeze. Captain Andy and crew were great and the trip out and back with Captain Chris was fun too. Hopefully I can go one more time before leaving Key West, if not, I'll be back later in the year. 

And here's the view from the patio, not bad for $16 bucks a day.  

This is the site we got at Sigsbee. We are front row with the water only 25' away. We also face west so we have the sunset out the front window. 

Spyderman Adventures

Spyderman Adventures We have been on the road for a few weeks now. Took in the races at Talladega and Darlington. Stopped at Haulmark in Georgia to check on the progress of our trailer. In Florida now, took a refresher scuba course, did a couple of open water boat dives. Ready for some treasure diving now.

On thursday the 20th we had the Banks Power Pac installed on the new motorhome. Fuel mileage increased by 2 mpg and horsepower jumped up by 119 horses to 469hp, that should be a big help when we start pulling the new trailer. We are almost packed, ready for our full-time adventure.

Spyderman Adventures

A week at home and we are busy cleaning the property and getting it ready for sale. Auction is the way we have decided to go, so there will be two, one for personal property, one for real estate. Have ordered new trailer, looking forward to that. Have storage space for things that won't be sold and can't go with us yet, like Jen's things. Talladega is our next race, then Darlington.

Home

We arrived home last night. A few hours later we had the biggest rain shower and thunder and lightning show we have seen here in a long time. Everything looks good at home, except a dead tree between the driveways had fallen down, guess I'll be cutting that up for firewood tomorrow.

Last night we had our first guests for dinner in the motorhome, Tanker & Girlfriend. Not the wine bottle, Tanker is doing well on his "Wino Studies 101". We had grilled Halibut, corn on the cob, french fries, and sliced tomatoes.  

Here we are parked at Conroe Texas Thousand Trails. Yesterday Lisa came over from Beaumont area to visit and later in the day we had dinner with Tanker & Girlfriend and their friends Brad and Louetta. All you can eat prime rib, what a deal.

Spyderman Adventures Today we move, it's a beautiful day out. I am still testing to see how if this blog is the one I want to keep or is the Yahoo blog the one. I have downloaded picasa and picasa help for adding pics. It worked yesterday, lets see if it works today. I will add a pic from puter.

Okay, erased pic of old motorhome and here is pic of new Beaver motorhome. This pic was taken by Nancy as we pulled into their park in Zephrhills, Fl. We are in Thousand Trails now in Orlando and are leaving tomorrow. On the way home we plan to stop in Ocala to visit friends and then swing down to Houston to visit other friends there, then up to Oklahoma and home.

Time to update and see if this blog is easier to keep updated than my other blog or not. I have been using Yahoo360 which has been really easy. Gotta change the picture also as we have gotten rid of that motorhome and now have a newer coach.
